Overview
i3 is searching for an experienced Systems Architect to join our Virtual Training, Simulation, and Gaming team. This position makes intuitive, high-level decisions for software development and creates architectural approaches for software design and implementation. The Systems Architect provides guidance to the software development team according to the “big picture” as well as industry standards and lessons learned throughout their career. At the same time, they push the boundaries and supply innovative and effective solutions that disrupt the industry. They have a strong technical background and the ability to design and develop a unified vision for software characteristics and functions. They direct and provide a framework for the development of systems and software solutions which ultimately supports our Nation’s Warfighters.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications• Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired product• Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility• Define all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards• Communicate successfully all concepts and guidelines to development team• Oversee progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial design• Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers• Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc.• Approve final product before launch
Qualifications
Required:
• A Bachelor’s degree is required with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience. • Experience in software development and coding in various languages• Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture• Familiarity with UI/UX design• High-quality organizational and leadership skills• Outstanding communication skills
Desired:
• Experience using the Unity game engine and/or C /C#• Experience in Project Management
