Job Title: Mechanical Engineer I – Technician (Entry-Level)
Location: El Paso, TX 79912
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Duration: 9-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $22/hr. (W2 – No Benefits)
Job Description:
- Are you a current engineering student or recent graduate eager to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment?
- Join our team as a Mechanical Engineer I – Technician, where you’ll work closely with experienced engineers to support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
What You'll Do:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct time studies using video analysis to identify process inefficiencies.
- Install and maintain equipment such as safety guards, rails, racks, and conveyors.
- Assist in waste (MUDA) reduction and material handling improvements.
- Provide direct support to Manufacturing Engineers on the production floor.
Additional Duties:
- Create and maintain BOMs, routings, and production workflows.
- Support label printing processes and software (LabelView, BarTender, Zebra Designer).
- Address and resolve Form, Fit, Function (3F) issues.
- Actively engage in 5S and continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities.
Who We’re Looking For:
Education & Background:
- Engineering student (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) OR
- Recent graduate with a technical diploma or engineering degree.
Key Skills:
- Experience with time studies and using video for process analysis.
- Strong in Microsoft Excel for documentation and tracking.
- Familiar with BOM creation, routings, and production data management.
- Self-driven with leadership potential and a focus on safety and quality.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Bonus Skills (Preferred but Not Required):
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor, Creo, or SolidWorks.
- Experience with SAP or label software.
- Exposure to Kaizen and line balancing principles.
