What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineer position at Intek Plastics Inc?
Intek is seeking a talented Lean/Continuous Improvement Leader with Manufacturing Engineering background to collaboratively lead and drive process repeatability, improvement, and daily problem solving in one of our three major Value Streams. This is a value stream team position located in the value stream office with the Sr. Supervisor, Quality Engineer, and Development Technician.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Works with other functional departments to introduce new products into manufacturing and service.
- Justifies, installs, and performs qualification / validation activities on equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Works with other functional departments to resolve issues in production.
- Provides technical training support to other department personnel as required.
- Develops and implements continuous improvement solutions based on Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Develops fixturing / tooling.
- Establishes process controls on new and legacy products. Works cross functionally with Quality to set up controls.
- Reviews standards and develops methods for increasing efficiency.
- Develops, implements, and responds to corrective actions.
- Initiate and implement Engineering Change Requests.
- Responsible for following all ISO quality systems and procedures.
- Supports Intek Plastics, Inc. policies and procedures and conducts departmental and Company activities in accordance with these policies.
- Every employee is expected to support the Intek Plastics, Inc. Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with our Quality System Manual and Documented Procedures.
Qualifications
- Four-year Engineering degree.
- Three or more years of Manufacturing Engineering experience desired.
- Lean/Six Sigma experience supporting a value stream desired.
- SolidWorks software experience a plus.
