Millerbernd Manufacturing Company, located in Winsted, MN, is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team!
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you hold the keys to ensuring that our manufacturing is carried out (and the end product is produced) in the most time and cost-effective way while still maintaining overall product quality.
What you'll do:
- Respond to production problems and escalations where repeat failures or large business impacts are occurring
- Maximize efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and workforce utilization in multiple areas
- Determine the parts, equipment, and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications utilizing advanced technical abilities
- Tend to works on projects with significant complexity.
- Project leader impacting multiple teams. Advanced planning required for task sequencing.
- Provide direction to operators, leads and supervisors in response to problems and escalations
- Perform advanced engineering calculations
- Take leadership role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) projects to elevate manufacturing performance.
- Provide direction on technical or project management support
- Lead equipment proof of concepts and coordinate installations
- Establish process capabilities
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with coworkers to promote a cooperative working climate conducive to maximum productivity, efficiency and effectiveness.
- Perform work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirements
What you'll need to be successful:
- Bachelors degree in engineering and 0-2 years of experience OR equivalent and more than 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Knows and applies advanced concepts and techniques of a manufacturing engineer.
- Knows and applies advanced DMAIC problem solving methodology and Lean concepts.
- Knows and applies tools to perform Root Cause Corrective Action analysis.
- Computer literate; particularly in word processing, spreadsheet, email
- Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings including hydraulic equipment schematics.
- Reads and interprets customer specifications and industry standards
- Writes internal manufacturing routings
- Self-starting - takes on initiatives to solve challenges
- Ability to solve practical problems and make decisions
- Effective and appropriate verbal and written communication skills, in English
- Works with others as part of a high-performance team
- Able to adapt to changing work priorities
- Accepts and applies on the job training to advance skill level
- Remains positive in challenging work environments
