Job Title: Chemist I
Location: Scarborough, ME 04074
Duration: 6 Months (W2 Contract)
Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain the production schedule to meet manufacturing requirements
- Investigate process issues and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Perform in-process quality control testing, including qualifications, inspections, and titrations
- Manufacture critical and non-critical bioreagents using approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Follow established protocols focused on product and process improvement
- Maintain compliance with GMP and GLP quality systems
- Observe proper safety procedures while performing laboratory and manufacturing tasks
- Coordinate with team members to ensure uninterrupted raw bioreagent supply
- Participate in team-based manufacturing operations within a regulated environment
Basic Qualifications / Education
- Associate’s degree with 1–2 years of relevant experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field (fresh graduates encouraged to apply)
- Familiarity with wet bench laboratory techniques and analytical concepts
Required Technical Skills
- Micropipetting
- Aseptic technique
- Experience working in laminar flow hoods
- Use of laboratory measurement tools including pH meters, analytical balances, serological pipettes, and graduated cylinders
- Experience with titrations and routine laboratory testing
Competencies
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with moderate supervision
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to quality standards
- Proficiency with basic computer applications, including spreadsheets, databases, manufacturing systems, and word processing software
- Ability to work in a cold room environment (2–8°C) for extended periods (4–6 hours or more, as required by manufacturing needs)
