Job Description:

- Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment.
- Objectively identifies the presence of or absence of disease utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Assists physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations including, but not limited to, Transesophageal echocardiography, Trans-catheter echo guided procedures (location specific), pericardiocentesis, echo guided myocardial biopsies (location specific), contrast enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography.
- Has the ability to modify procedures, to meet special circumstances and/or provide clinically useful information on a cost-effective basis.
Required Qualifications:
- Upon hire: Oregon Sonographer
- Upon hire: National Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International
- Upon hire: National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International
- Upon hire: National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree: Applied Science, from a CAAHPE accredited school in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- One year: Experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations, OR Minimum of 800 exams using all imaging modalities available.
- Pediatric echocardiography experience.
- Familiarity with imaging support of advanced heart failure patients (mechanical support devices).
- Experience with echo guided trans-catheter procedures.
