IXT is looking for a full time or part time Logistics Coordinator to join our team!! The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for working directly with Owner Operators to assign loads, dispatch, and track/trace freight in the most time-efficient and cost-effective manner. This position requires extreme sense of urgency, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Job duties may be added or taken away due to operational/business needs and requirements.
Full time position hours:
Monday-Friday in office 8am-4pm
Rotating on call afterhours/ weekends
Part time position hours:
Wednesday - Friday in office 8am-4pm
Saturday-Sunday on call
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily delivery routes for Owner Operators based on customer pickup and delivery schedules.
- Analyze load information in order to determine and verify the appropriate and most efficient schedule/routes for Owner Operators.
- Participate in rotational on call assignments for afterhours and weekend coverage.
- Source equipment based on the most cost-effective routings to satisfy customer and Owner Operator needs, working within the parameters and guidelines related to profitability and rates.
- Strategize best practices for daily routing of Owner Operator team – what drivers like to work early, stay in the city, take longer loads, willing to help out with an empty at the end of their day, etc.
- Resolve issues with Owner Operator loads as they arise (delivery time changed, container is on a bad order chassis, truck maintenance issues, etc.) on own and escalate to Logistics Manager as needed.
- Ensure the system contains complete and accurate details regarding load and routing information.
- Provide exceptional, professional customer service to all Owner Operators, team members, internal and external customers at all times.
- Monitor Owner Operator location status and provide help and assistance as necessary to protect pick-up and delivery standards.
- Work collaboratively with the Logistics Manager and Logistics Team to provide information that improves and enhances the work environment.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and deliveries.
- Build, develop, and maintain relationships with Owner Operators.
- Plan and implement processes, as necessary, to improve routing and equipment utilization performance.
- Ensure a solid understanding of DOT Hours of Service (HOS) and Compliance matters, providing help and information as necessary to ensure Owner Operators are qualified and available for daily dispatch.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of intermodal experience in the transportation industry (Required).
- Minimum 1 year of logistics coordinator/dispatching experience in the transportation industry (Required).
- Ability to dispatch 15 drivers in a face paced environment.
