Billing Associate

Overview

Interstate Waste Services is the most progressive and innovative provider of solid waste and recycling services in the country! We primarily service Northern New Jersey, Southern New York State, New York City, with a landfill located in Ohio, where we also own and operate a state-of-the-art rail-served landfill. We cater to a diverse range of residential, industrial, and commercial customers. Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Other minor duties may be assigned. 

• Create and issue accurate invoices to customers
• Process credit/debit memos
• Prepare account statements for customers
• Answer customer queries via phone/email
• Prepare and monitor all monthly billing reports
• Manage account balances and resolve inconsistencies
• Prepare and/or complete proper spreadsheets and online portals for customers
• Update accounting records with issued invoices, processed payments, new balances, and customer contact information
• Collaborate with other teams to resolve billing disputes
• Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned by Billing Supervisor

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Specifically, Excel
• Bilingual preferred; able to read, write, and speak Spanish proficiently
• Must have very good interpersonal and communication skills
• Good at multi-tasking and can work effectively with other team members
• Ability to manage time effectively and work in a fast paced and changing environment.
• Able to work overtime as needed
