Job Title: Painter Helper
Job Summary: As a Painter Helper in the Marine and Manufacturing industry, your primary responsibility is to support professional painters in preparing surfaces and applying coatings to various objects and structures. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of painting projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surface Preparation: Assist in the cleaning, sanding, and priming of surfaces to be painted. This may involve the use of hand tools or power equipment.
- Material Handling: Transport and mix paint, solvents, and other painting materials as needed. Ensure proper storage and disposal of materials in compliance with safety regulations.
- Masking and Taping: Help in the masking and taping of areas not to be painted to ensure precise application of coatings.
- Paint Application: Assist in applying paint using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment while following established procedures for an even finish.
- Cleanup: Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment. Ensure the workspace is organized and free of hazards.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with the painting team, communicate effectively, and follow instructions from the lead painter or supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a painter helper or in a related field is a plus.
- Knowledge of painting tools and equipment.
- Basic understanding of paint mixing and color matching.
- Physical fitness for lifting and carrying materials and standing for extended periods.
- Safety-conscious and able to follow safety guidelines.
Physical Demands:
