Iron County is accepting applications for the position of Engineering Administrative Assistant. This position will work under the guidance and direction of the Iron County Engineer.
JOB SUMMARY
Performs clerical functions for the Iron County Engineer in order to assist with the planning, preparing and executing services within the Engineering Department. May work in conjunction with/for the Iron County Building department and Planner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of secretarial/clerical or office administration experience is preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must have and maintain a valid Utah Driver License in accordance with Iron County Personnel Policy Section 30.
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; basic mathematics;
Skill in customer service and public relations; various computer applications (i.e. word processing, data entry, spreadsheet, et.) and systems; basic bookkeeping, accounting, invoicing, bank deposits and cash handling;
Ability to follow directions given both verbally and in writing; prioritize and organize responsibilities; maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work activities; distill relevant and useful elements from vast amounts of information; correctly use grammar, spelling and punctuation; understand and follow broad objectives and instructions; work efficiently and meet established deadlines; work unsupervised and accept responsibility for actions; exercise initiative, independent judgment and act resourcefully under varying conditions; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
