What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speaker Engagement Manager position at ISMG - Information Security Media Group?
The Speaker Engagement Manager would be responsible for recruiting and maintaining strategic relationships with subject matter experts who would appear on ISMG’s sites and stages. The Speaker Engagement Manager will actively recruit and prepare speakers to help ensure we provide maximum value to our attendees and make certain our speakers have the best possible experience working with ISMG. The Speaker Engagement Manager is charged with leading efforts on keynote and case study recommendations, efficient speaker recruitment, effective speaker onboarding, and keeping operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Research, identify, and source top speakers within specified regions (preferably CISOs or CIOs).
- Conduct introductory calls to present speaking opportunities and develop strategic relationships.
- Work closely with the Executive Director and Content team, to outline session topics that resonate with ISMG Summit Audience.
- Meet goals of all speakers confirmed at a minimum 90 days prior to summit, along with topics and abstracts.
- Obtain speaker details, session topics, and presentation slides through email, phone, and video communication.
- Send out important notes and reminders to speakers about their upcoming sessions and ensure appropriate preparation.
- Cross check and proofread all literature related to conference programs and collaborate with copy editing staff as needed.
- Provide a client friendly support service for speakers to ensure their experience is as hassle free as possible for them before, during, and post session, whilst ensuring the event team has all relevant information required from the speaker.
- Schedule and conduct preparation meetings to maintain relationships, exchange relevant information, and set up recordings and panel schedules.
- Intake and organize topics for Speaker Committee.
- Analyze and track competition to drive and maintain innovation.
- Develop and maintain personal and program branding on LinkedIn.
- Arrange transportation and hotel logistics for all speakers.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Resilient, adaptable, flexible, and willing to support the Director on assigned tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work as part of a team but also independently.
- Outstanding communication and listening skills.
- Ability to coach speakers and improve presentation slides.
- Client-oriented, good team spirit, and able to work under pressure.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and solution-oriented.
- Interest or experience working within Cyber Security, Tech, or Media are a bonus!

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
