Chef-owned by Shotaro Kamio, Iyasare, continues to be a destination restaurant on Fourth Street in Berkeley, CA since its opening in 2013. The Opportunity
We are seeking a polished, detail-oriented, and hospitality-driven server to join us. The ideal candidate will deliver an exceptional guest experience by providing refined, attentive, and personalized service while demonstrating in-depth menu knowledge and a passion for going above and beyond for the guests. The style of service we provide is "ever-present but not intrusive".
Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and courteously, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and establishing a positive presence
- Guide guests through the food and beverage menu, making recommendations, describing ingredients, preparations, and pairings with confidence and accuracy
- Take accurate orders and input them into the Toast POS system
- Monitor tables throughout the dining experience to anticipate guest needs and provide seamless service
- Handle proper wine service including presenting, opening, and pouring
- Uphold cleanliness and organization of dining areas in accordance with health and safety standards
- Collaborate with team members and managers to maintain a smooth and elevated dining experience
- Flexibility to support other areas of the restaurant that need attention during high volume periods
Qualifications
- 3 years of serving experience in an upscale restaurant
- Strong knowledge of food, wine, sake, and cocktail menus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to listen and communicate effectively
- Ability to multitask efficiently
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail
