Grinder Wage Range Maximum: $21.14/hr. (plus up to 7% seniority pay which is awarded at 5/10/15 yr benchmarks)
Purpose of Job:
- Job function is to perform rough grinding on various sized metal castings using either a hand-held grinder or a stationary grinder. Also utilizes a hand-held or mounted cutting wheel.
Responsibilities and Job Requirements:
- Must be able to operate a hand-held and stationary grinder (grinder weighs 14.5 lbs.)
- Must be able to operate a cutting wheel.
- Must be able to operate a crane, chain hoist, cut off saw
- Must be able to operate skid steer and fork lift
- Must be able to use go/no go gauges.
- Must be able to meet production standards on a sustained basis.
- Must be able to produce high quality castings on a sustained basis.
- Must be willing to work in hot/dirty environment.
- Must have a good safety and attendance record.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to regularly lift, push, pull and move up to 75 lbs.
- Constantly required to use hands and fingers and handle or feel.
- Position requires constant standing and maneuvering heavy metal pieces.
- Occasionally required bending, stooping, twisting.
- Must meet minimum vision standards, corrected or uncorrected.
- Must be able to work in areas that are not climate-controlled.
- Required safety equipment include respirator, face shield, safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, apron, hearing protection and long sleeve shirt.
