THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a residential plumber, you will diagnose and repair residential plumbing systems and lead customers to informed and confident buying decisions.
- Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing emergencies
- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial and residential structures
- Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems
- Keep an accurate record of time spent working, description of work, and materials used
PREFERENCES, REQUIREMENTS, AND EDUCATION
- Required: Four (4) years of plumbing industry experience
- Required: Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
- Required: Meet physical demands of walking, standing, sitting, bending, climbing ladders, and occasionally moving and lifting equipment such as pumps, valves, or other parts weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Journeyman or Master Plumber License a plus
- Must have own hand and power tools
- High School Education or Equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check
- Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed
- Able to explain technical information to non-technical customers
- Ability to maintain a positive attendance record
- Comfortable working in extremely varied environments (temperatures, humidity, weather, insects, animals, etc.)
- Skilled with hand tools and equipment such as ladders, etc.
- Motivated, self-starter who’s flexible and has a great attitude on life
- Complete installs promptly, treating customers and employees with respect, courtesy, and professionalism
- Communicate effectively with customers, managers, dispatchers, and service
- Able to meet physical demands to install to industry requirements and customer preferences
- Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to local,state and national plumbing codes,regulations and safety standards.
- Material Management: Select and procure appropriate materials,tools and equipment for plumbing projects while managing inventory efficiently.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with HVAC technicians,electricians and other construction professionals to ensure smooth project coordination

We are looking to hire several skilled plumbers to deliver the most efficient, highest install experience possible. This is skilled craft work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and heating equipment. Work requires knowledge of techniques, methods, and procedures used in the plumbing trade, which involves the use of specialized skills or specialized equipment, which is acquired through a combination of training and considerable on-the-job experience. This is a full-time, on-site, YEAR-ROUND position based in Jacksonville, FL. Previous plumbing experience is required, but we will provide on-the-job, paid training so you may experience higher compensation, faster growth, and leadership opportunities.
J&W Heating and Air Plumbing offer service Monday- Friday with on call weekend and emergency response options. With our company, there is room to grow for the right candidate.
