JBT Diversified Food & Health is a prime solutions and equipment provider within JBT's Fruit & Vegetable Processing segment. From primary and secondary processing, to final retail packaging, we offer complete line solutions for Fruit & Vegetable juices, non-carbonated beverages and dairy-based drinks. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Buyer to join our Lakeland team!
The purpose of the buyer position is to assure the timely execution of product line related forecasting, shop floor control, inventory management, and procurement activities in support of total customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Continuous improvement of supplier performance in the areas of quality, delivery, and paperwork accuracy by evaluating performance results and generating corrective action plans to suppliers.
- Responsible for the sourcing of new and existing components and services in support of supplier base management strategies.
- Responsible for annual and on-going price negotiations in support of product line cost control strategies.
- Communicate and resolve material non-conformances with suppliers as required.
- Resolve any Accounts Payable invoicing issues related to the managed suppliers
- Manage AFE’s for the purchasing/planning department
- Prepare and analyze monthly PPV report – SOX requirement
- Prepare monthly open PO report for SOX requirement
- Perform MRP exception analysis on a weekly basis.
- Effectively manage inventory in support of budget and inventory turn objectives.
- Analyze and disposition excess and obsolete inventories.
- Responsible for the on-going and annual development of standard costs for assigned components and equipment.
- Evaluate annually, establish, and maintain operating system inventory modifiers.
- Monitor customer order shipment requirements on a weekly basis to assure those commitments are met.
- Support the Manufacturing Floor, as needed, to improve product quality, manufacturing methods, and material flow.
- Support the service and engineering organizations in the area of resolving quality issues and/or developing product line improvements.
- Monitor and process engineering changes to assure proper implementation
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business.
- Minimum of 5 years in a production planning/purchasing or similar position
- Complete working knowledge of fully integrated business systems
- Proficient with MS Office, word, excel and power point
Preferred:
- Experience within the manufacturing industry
- ERP knowledge, prefered JDE
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Spend most of the time in an office environment.
- This is an site based role that will require presence on site full time.
