Job Title: Energy Engineer
Location: New York City, NY
Role: Hybrid (Must be located or willing to relocate to the NYC area)
Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Energy Engineer to join our team in New York City. The ideal candidate will lead and manage energy retrofit projects, working closely with clients to identify opportunities for energy savings, develop retrofit strategies, and oversee the implementation of energy efficiency measures.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership: Lead the planning, design, and implementation of energy retrofit projects for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
Energy Audits: Conduct detailed energy audits to identify energy-saving opportunities and develop comprehensive retrofit plans.
Technical Analysis: Perform energy modeling, simulation, and analysis to evaluate the potential impact of various energy efficiency measures.
Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Design and Specification: Develop detailed engineering designs, specifications, and drawings for energy-efficient systems and technologies.
Project Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Quality Assurance: Oversee the installation and commissioning of energy retrofit measures, ensuring they meet design specifications and performance criteria.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and contractors to deliver high-quality projects.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in energy engineering, with a focus on energy retrofits. -
Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or LEED AP is a plus.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., eQuest, EnergyPlus), HVAC systems, building automation systems, and renewable energy technologies.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct detailed technical analyses.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Project Management: Proven project management experience, with a track record of successfully delivering energy retrofit projects.
Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
