Job Responsibilities for General Contractor Foreman/Lead Person:
- Accurately read and interpret construction blueprints, site plans, and specifications.
- Establish grades and elevations using appropriate tools and techniques; complete detailed daily reports.
- Supervise and coordinate a crew of approximately 10 workers, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
- Plan project activities and crew assignments at least one week in advance, proactively addressing potential challenges.
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment safely and effectively, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Work alongside the crew when necessary to meet project deadlines and maintain workflow.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with crew members, subcontractors, and supervisors to ensure alignment on project goals.
- Enforce job site safety rules and company policies.
- Monitor job progress, materials, and equipment to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by project managers or superintendents.
Position Requirements for General Contractor Foreman/Lead Person:
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in tunneling (hand mining or tunnel boring machine [TBM]) or jack & bore operations.
- Must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including drug screening and criminal background check.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
