Position Overview: Manager in Training (MIT)
As an MIT, you’ll begin a 90-day structured training program designed to build your skills across every area of store operations. You’ll learn by doing—growing into a leader capable of managing a store, building high-performing teams, and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Your Training Path: 3 Levels
Level 1 – Operator in Training
Learn and master fundamentals: opening, closing, slicing, prepping, sub-making.
Level 2 – MIT Development
Build speed and consistency while practicing shift leadership and coaching.
Level 3 – Leadership Execution
Take ownership of daily operations: scheduling, ordering, training, and leading your team to success.
Career Progression
Crew → Shift Leader → MIT → Manager → Lead Assistant Operator → Store Operator

Key Responsibilities
Lead by example in all stations—opener, closer, slicer, sub maker
Uphold store standards in food quality, safety, speed, and service
Motivate and coach team members daily
Handle prep, inventory, and scheduling duties
Participate in management meetings and strategy sessions
Deliver an exceptional customer experience—every guest, every time
Represent the Jersey Mike’s brand with pride, professionalism, and heart
Compensation During Training
Base Pay: $13.00–$16.00/hour (based on experience)
Guaranteed Tips: $2.00 /hour
Total Guaranteed Pay: $15.00–$18.00/hour
If your tips don’t meet this minimum, we’ll make up the difference
Compensation & Benefits Upon Promotion
Lead Assistant Operator:
Up to $19.00/hour overtime (45-hour workweek)
Paid vacation and holidays
Year-end bonus eligibility
Estimated annual income: $44,460
Store Operator:
Up to $74,000/year with performance bonuses
Paid vacation and holidays
Bonuses tied to food cost, labor, and sales performance

Qualifications & Expectations
Must be at least 18 years old to operate slicer
Must have reliable transportation
1 year QSR experience preferred
Serve Safe Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
High school diploma or equivalent
Must complete 90-day probationary MIT program
Must score 90% on final evaluation and complete training modules
