- Respond to customer comfort calls. These are usually hot/cold calls caused by the failure of HVAC equipment or controls.
- Troubleshoot, repair and or replace VAV boxes, PIU units, controllers, thermostats, valves, and valve controllers as required.
- Complete preventive maintenance (PM) as assigned including performing general maintenance and repairs.
- Assist senior mechanics with more complex tasks or major repairs/modifications.
- Learn and demonstrate appropriate alarm responses to common PLC initiated alarms.
- Exposed to commercial mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all customers.
- Must be able to organize your workload efficiently to meet all the customers’ needs.
- Knowledge and experience with hand tools and test equipment.
- Working knowledge and experience with the following facilities systems is preferred, HVAC, VAV, Dual Duct Terminal units (Hot Deck/Cold Deck) and associated pneumatic controls.
- Ability to read and interpret basic layout drawings, system drawings and manufacturers' equipment specifications.
- Knowledge of standard and maintenance practices.
- High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED).
- Must have a valid driver's license.
