Staff Applied Research Scientist

This role offers a unique opportunity to join a pioneering research team focused on advancing generative AI technologies for audio and video content creation. You will contribute to developing cutting-edge deep learning models that redefine media synthesis, voice cloning, and realistic video generation. Working in a collaborative and innovative environment, you will lead research initiatives, mentor team members, and drive impactful projects that push the boundaries of AI in creative applications. This position can be remote within the US or based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Accountabilities:

• Lead the research process from defining problems to conducting and analyzing experiments
• Collaborate effectively with team members to communicate progress, results, and challenges
• Design and influence the research roadmap for product features
• Train and mentor other researchers on the team
• Own research efforts related to specific product functionalities
• Innovate new algorithms for media synthesis, speech recognition, audio/video tagging, and related AI tasks
• Explore novel research directions to continuously enhance the product's AI capabilities
  
  
  

Requirements

• Proven experience designing and implementing deep learning algorithms
• PhD or Master's degree specialized in Deep Learning or equivalent practical experience
• Demonstrated research impact through first-author publications or significant project contributions
• Strong programming skills with expertise in deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Ability to rapidly implement and iterate on ideas, managing multiple experiments efficiently
• Passion for experimentation and scaling research efforts, wishing for more computational resources
• At least one of the following: lead author on accepted top-tier ML/AI conference publications (e.g., ICLR, ICML, NeurIPS), or key contributor to a production feature involving deep learning
• No strict requirement for domain-specific knowledge in computer vision or speech processing
