If you have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred, but will consider candidates with 5 years of experience a no degree), 3 years of progressive, full cycle accounting experience specifically within reporting and financials, are highly technical with excellent MS Excel and ERP systems, possess a positive, collaborative and communicative approach while working with a team, enjoy working in a dynamic, fast paced organization, have the ability to fully onsite in office and travel internationally, potentially up to quarterly than this could be a great opportunity for you. Job Details
Jobot is partnering with a growing Denver company to staff a position as an Accountant. The Accountant will be responsible for the following:
Principal Accountabilities:
- Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
- Maintains the general ledger.
- Closes the monthly books by reconciling balance sheet accounts.
- Reconciles bank accounts daily ensuring all transactions are posted timely
- Performs monthly reconciling of bank accounts and line of credit accounts.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audits.
- Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
- Analyzes cash flow daily.
- Prepares and submits weekly borrowing base reporting to lender.
- Approves check run developed by the AR/AP clerk.
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Generates outside sales commission reporting.
- Works closely with German parent company for financial reporting and growth
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Operations
- Forecast cash flow positions and related borrowing needs; monitor cash balances
- Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational requirements
- Maintain banking relationships
- Oversee the company's transaction processing systems
Management
- Maintain a system of accounting policies and procedures
- Monitor all open legal issues involving the company
- Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
- Ensure that recordkeeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
- Report risk issues to the management team
- Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
Transactions
- Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
- Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
- Oversee the credit management function, including the timely collection of accounts receivable
- Maintain fixed assets
- Complete sales tax returns and timely remit funds to applicable government jurisdictions
- Complete the month-end and year-end close processes according to the close schedules
- Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank account
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of accounts to ensure their accuracy
- Maintain the petty cash fund
- Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
- Maintain the chart of accounts
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Reporting
- Prepare and issue timely and complete financial statements
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
- Create and maintain the annual budget
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
- Provide financial analysis as needed, in particular for pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
Compliance
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual review
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants and timely prepare and submit all applicable bank reporting documentation
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
