Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney specializing in Fidelity & Surety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fidelity and surety law, with a proven track record in the insurance industry. This will be based out of our NJ; admission to the NJ and NY bar is required.
Is your background a match?
* Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
* Admission to the NY and NJ bar and in good standing
* 5 years of experience in fidelity and surety law, federal and state courts, in both NY and NJ
* Extensive knowledge with surety, construction litigation, and/or insurance coverage matters
* Excellent legal research, analysis, and writing skills.
* Able to handle a high volume of cases and work under pressure.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* High level of professional integrity and ethics
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
What will you be doing:
* Provide legal advice and representation to clients in matters related to fidelity and surety law
* Draft, review, and negotiate fidelity and surety bonds and related documents
* Handle claims management and coordination including claims against commercial and other miscellaneous bonds
* Draft bond forms, indemnity agreements, and other surety-related agreements
* Claim investigation and coverage analysis through defense, resolution, and recovery
* Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development
* Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals on complex legal matters
* Advise clients on risk management and mitigation in fidelity and surety matters
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in fidelity and surety law and insurance regulations
* Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards
