The Senior Tax Manager will play a key role in managing and coordinating all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
- Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
- Conduct research and planning according to applicable tax laws.
- Manage the corporate tax process.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Prepare/Review tax returns, extensions, tax planning calculations for the corporate entities.
- Manage and mentor members of tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement.
- Review tax accruals and tax working papers in preparation of financial statements.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to manage audits and queries.
- Maintain and update the company's tax database.
- Recommend tax strategies that align with business goals.
- Identify tax savings in prospective acquisition scenarios.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a tax manager or public accountant role.
- Proven work experience as a tax manager.
- Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance, and all types of tax returns.
- Knowledge of tax software and MS Office.
- Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems.
- Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships.
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
- Analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong understanding of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance.
