Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all tax compliance activities, ensuring adherence to all local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
- Lead tax planning initiatives and strategies to optimize tax liabilities and ensure maximum profitability.
- Conduct thorough tax research to stay abreast of current tax laws and regulations and to identify potential tax savings opportunities.
- Prepare and review complex individual and business tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws.
- Review and analyze financial statements for tax implications, making recommendations as necessary.
- Provide expert tax advice and guidance to senior management, making recommendations on tax-related matters.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations, and ensure that the organization is in compliance with all tax obligations.
- Develop and implement efficient tax processes and procedures, and ensure that all tax-related documentation is properly maintained and organized.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. A Master's degree in Taxation or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax management role within the finance industry.
- In-depth knowledge of tax law, tax compliance, tax planning, and tax research is required.
- Proven experience in preparing and reviewing complex individual and business tax returns.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and their tax implications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-informed decisions.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax information to non-tax professionals.
- Proficiency with tax software and other financial software applications.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
