Job Details
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8 hour shift
Weekends as needed
Job duties include:
Conducting face-to-face tax interviews with clients to include collecting, analyzing, and organizing tax documents and information necessary to accurately prepare tax returns
Preparing complete and accurate personal and business tax returns to include compliance with applicable tax regulations using allowable deduction, credits and strategies to minimize tax obligations.
Reviewing data input, as well as identifying and resolving technical tax issues
Finding tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings
Reviewing client’s books, and working with internal staff in any cleanup work necessary
When requested by clients, performing cash flow planning/projections, preparation of working trial balances, adjusting journal entries, general ledger work, and tax accruals for stand-alone returns
Generating business growth, increasing client retention, along with offering additional products and services
Providing IRS audit support when necessary
Assisting in the quality control review process with review of staff returns and providing feedback to staff on a regular basis
Developing and updating tax planning for all clients throughout the year
Providing regularly scheduled advice to clients on accounting, business and tax matters
Pro-actively following all processes that the firm developed for handling current, returning and new clients
Becoming clients trusted advisor on all tax and accounting matters
Continuously work on improving personal skills and abilities
Learning and mastering all office software to the highest potential
Working as a team with all staff members, and provide & receive feedback as necessary
Working efficiently and proactively according to firm priorities
Performing other duties as needed to support the tax team
Required Skills & Experience:
CPA certification including current PTIN
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
In-depth understanding of taxation for all types of tax returns
Minimum of three years’ experience completing individual and business tax returns
Tax planning and support
Ability to effectively communicate with all clients via in person, by phone, email, etc.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage multiple clients
Management of tax staff
Excellent software skills including Excel and QuickBooks
Ability to multi-task
Strong communication skills
Must be reliable and detail-oriented
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership)
5 years experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
Education:
Bachelor's (Required)
Experience:
Tax experience: 5 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
CPA Certification including current PTIN (Required)
