The Data Security Administrator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing security measures to protect organizational data and information systems. This role ensures that access to computer data files is properly regulated and that systems are safeguarded against unauthorized access, modification, destruction, or disclosure of sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and implement data security measures to protect databases and information systems.
- Train users and promote security awareness to maintain system integrity and improve server and network efficiency.
- Develop and maintain security plans to protect computer files from accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure, including disaster recovery and emergency data processing procedures.
- Collaborate with users to understand data access requirements, investigate security violations, and support system or programming changes.
- Monitor emerging security threats, including computer viruses and malware, and update protection mechanisms accordingly.
- Maintain and update security configurations, including user access controls and security files, to support new software and changing access requirements.
- Coordinate the implementation of security solutions with internal teams and external vendors.
- Conduct risk assessments and perform security testing to validate the effectiveness of data protection and processing systems.
- Implement encryption, firewalls, and other security controls to protect data during transmission and prevent unauthorized access.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical users.
- Excellent problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic mentoring skills to provide guidance and constructive feedback.
- Solid understanding of computer hardware, software, processors, and electronic equipment.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and technology as applied to information security.
- Familiarity with applicable laws, regulations, and compliance requirements related to data security.
- Experience with security and identity management tools such as Cisco Systems, IBM Tivoli Identity Management (TIM), or similar platforms.
- Associate s degree in Computer Programming, Information Technology, or a related field (required).
- Bachelor s degree preferred.
- 5 7 years of experience in data security, system security administration, or a related role
