What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Psychologist position at John W. Rogers Middle School?
The school psychologist is directly responsible for the psychological assessment of academic, social, emotional, and behavioral domains utilizing problem-solving and standardized evaluations. The school psychologist participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings and building-based problem solving meetings designing systems, programs and services that maximize student's social, emotional, and educational success. In collaboration with staff, families, and communities the school psychologist promotes effective educational environments.
Assess psychological, educational, and behavioral needs of referred students and consults with the appropriate professional persons regarding implications and results
Facilitates and/or participates in eligibility meetings, IEP meetings and disciplinary review meetings
Consults with students, school staff, and parents regarding academic and/or personal/social needs
Maintains clearly written and comprehensive reports
Complete Medicaid paperwork for eligible students
Serve on Student Support Teams
Knowledge in Multi-Tiered System Supports (MTSS)
Follow all laws, guidelines, regulations, standards, and practices
