Summary
The Career Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all activities related to connecting students to career development resources within the Career Services Center. This includes managing Career Services’ online job searching network, supporting the hosting of career fairs, providing career development guidance and resources to enrolled students and alumni, facilitating career development workshops/presentations, and collaborating with faculty to deliver career development content. This position also supports the Director of Career Services with the planning and implementation of Career Development goals and objectives.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

This includes managing Career Services’ online job searching network, supporting the hosting of career fairs, providing career development guidance and resources to enrolled students and alumni, facilitating career development workshops/presentations, and collaborating with faculty to deliver career development content. This position also supports the Director of Career Services with the planning and implementation of Career Development goals and objectives.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Provides career development resources to students as they progress through their academic programs.
- Schedules and conducts individual career consultations (virtual and in person) with students on resume and cover letter creation, interview prep, and job search strategies.
- Coordinates all lab activities and ensures all services are documented through the utilization of the sign-in and sign-out kiosk.
- Schedules and facilitates career development workshops and classroom presentations in support of various programs, within Curriculum and Continuing Education.
- Partners with Academic Advising, First-year Experience and TRIO to provide students with career assessments and other career resources.
- Stays informed on JCC’s programs of study offerings and connects them to current occupations and career paths.
- Supports the planning and hosting of Career Services sponsored activities, to include job fairs, employer information sessions and other student-centered career events.
- Prepares marketing materials as it relates to career development workshops and career events.
- Maintains a knowledge of current labor market information and local industry trends.
- Attends department meetings as required.
- Coordinates activities of the assigned work-study student.
- Serves on campus committees when required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
