Position Summary: Maintain order and safety in swimming areas to prevent accidents and provide assistance to swimmers.

- Ensure the safety of all patrons in and around the pool
- Know and enforce pool rules and regulations
- Understand and execute pool emergency procedure
- Inspect facilities for cleanliness and safety, take action as necessary
- Complete all necessary preventative and regualr maintenance, counts, pool checks as assigned
- Ensure that safety equipment is present and at each guard station
- Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning and administer basic first aid when necessary to stabilize victim until emergency medical service can respond
- Attend all assigned meetings and in-services
- Perform other such duties and function as are necessary or incidental to the proper performance of this position
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Must hold current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification
