TITLE: Multimedia Production Specialist 12 Months
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Communication
JOB GOAL: To ensure effective and efficient communication to all audiences of the Johnston County Public School System through the production of quality multimedia content.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ideal candidate is an experienced AP Style writer and a strong storyteller who thinks comprehensively and has great attention to detail. Should be able to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, while delivering within a deadline. Writing deliverables include but are not limited to website content, social media, marketing materials, newsletters, and blogs.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Apps: Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Premiere, and Lightroom is a plus
- Associate’s degree in communication, journalism, web design, graphic design, video production, or a related field required
- At least 2 years of experience in a communication-related position is preferred
- Ability to function independently with minimal oversight
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Update website content for various school system departments
- Assist with creation and publication of mobile and social media content
- Produce and distribute multimedia content for traditional and modern platforms
- Create/design basic graphics for website, social media, packages and videos
- Train and assist webmasters at the school level
- Oversee all district livestream events and the recording of specialty training sessions where applicable
- Maintain and oversee all video production equipment and needs, including Board of Education Room
- Operate and manage all district video web platforms
- Assist with the production of news/media packages highlighting Johnston County Public Schools
- Assist with archival of news articles relating to the school system
- Assist in set design and location scouting. Set up and position equipment for production
- Assist with photography activities for the school system
- Operate all equipment, gear and software vital to the video production process. Includes cameras, audio capture devices, lighting, computers, and editing software
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of industry standards and evolving technology
- Collaborate in the development of scripts, storyboards, and detailed execution plans, including project schedules, technical requirements, and talent coordination
- Assist with the planning and implementation of school system special events, including those on weekends, evenings and holidays
- Active participant in JCPS Communication Team
- Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and carry audio/visual equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms.
- Ability to speak before groups of people with poise, voice control and confidence.
- Ability to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid NC driver’s license.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, teachers, students, administrators, community leaders, agency representatives and others.

Salary : $40,300 - $51,000
