What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Professor/Clinical Coordinator, Radiography Program position at Kankakee Community College?

Provides instruction and assesses student learning in a variety of courses in the radiography program; collaborates with colleagues to maintain and develop curriculum; assesses students learning; serves on college committees, and performs other duties appropriate for a faculty member as assigned; is dedicated to the learning college concepts and develops programs and facilitates activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.
 
Is responsible for the classroom instruction and coordination of the clinical education sites as assigned by the program director.A.        Selects and reviews educational strategies and materials to facilitate achievement of competencies related to each course taught.
 
B.        Prepares current syllabi and instructional materials in accordance with course master syllabi, college policies and procedures.
 
C.        Advises, counsels and assists students in accomplishing their course and program goals.
 
D.        Meets classes as scheduled by the college and maintains office hours as stated in the KCC Faculty Association Contract.
 
E.         Evaluates student performance, and maintains and provides attendance and grade records for each class.
 
F.         Remains current with content, technology and teaching and learning strategies in the discipline.
 
G.        Assess student-learning outcomes at the class, course, and program levels.
 
H.        Participates in curriculum and course development.
 
I.          Attends division and faculty meetings and communicates regularly with the division dean regarding instructional concerns.
 
J.         Functions as an academic advisor for students and assists in registration.
 
K.        Participates in the faculty evaluation and in-service development activities.
 
L.         Works in a collaborative manner and responds to phone and email requests promptly.
 
M.        Assists the division dean in the recruitment and selection of part-time instructors.
 
N.        Provides course materials and assistance to part-time instructors as requested by the division dean.
 
O.        Serves on college committees as stated in the KCC Faculty Association Contract.
 
P.         Assists in budget preparation by recommending supplies and capital items where applicable.
 
Q.        Follows the policies and procedures of the college as stated in the Faculty Handbook and the KCC Faculty Association Contract.
 
R.        Represents and interprets the program informally at available opportunities.
 
S.        Attends the commencement program.
 
T.        Collaborates with the program director to complete clinical coordinator duties such as but not limited to; documentation of physical requirements, student placement at clinical sites, coordination of clinical contracts and other duties as mutually agreed upon with the program director and associate dean.
 A.        Bachelor's degree in a related field, licensed with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Division of Nuclear Safety (DNS), and recognition in good standing with the American Registry of Radiology Technologists required.
 
B.        The equivalent of two years of full-time professional experience as a radiographer required with current experience using CR and DR systems.
 
C.        Prior experience as an excellent, innovative teacher and with the use of instructional technologies desirable; community college teaching experience preferred.
 
D.        Qualified candidate must have strong reading, writing, communication, and computation skills as well as be computer literate.This is a full-time, tenure-track position to begin Summer, 2022.

Salary : $44,467
