Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor supervises bargaining unit personnel and/or oversees contractor personnel in the effective performance of Facilities activities and related activities in other buildings.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise bargaining unit employees in the operation, adjustment and inspection of refrigeration compressors, boilers and associated equipment and controls or in the installation, operation, maintenance or repair of facilities, equipment or machine tools.
- Ensures conformance in work area to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
- Assists in the planning and scheduling of work.
- Analyzes delays and noncompliance with schedules and initiates corrective action.
- Ensures adherence to all environmental specifications, cost objectives and energy conservation measures.
- Reports status of work and recommends improvements in methods, equipment and use of personnel.
- Ensures equipment is properly maintained.
- Performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Coordinates and communicates with HS&E on safety related questions and/or proper safety procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience, or Associate’s degree and 3 years of related experience, or HS diploma and 4 years of related experience.
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- United States Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
- Ability to organize and direct the work of skilled Facilities personnel.
