A multi-billion, industry leading healthcare company has an opening for a Payroll Specialist to join their team on a remote basis. The Payroll Specialist will report to the Payroll Manager & have the primary responsibility of processing bi-weekly payroll for 500ee and resolve related discrepancies. The Payroll Specialist will also get involved with processing new hires, personnel changes, direct deposits and tax documents and set up appropriate accrual rates.
Up to $35/hr DOE.
The role requires someone to be local to be the Boston area and will be in the office a few days each week.

Job Description
- Verify the accuracy of figures and computations of a bi-weekly payroll for more than five hundred employees.
- Research and resolve all payroll related discrepancies.
- Produce manual checks, process stop payments, voids and reversals.
- Ensure that all accrual balances are accurate and processed correctly in the time keeping system.
- Review and approve bi-weekly Inform managers and employees of timesheets that are incomplete.
- Support all departments with their time keeping entries.
- Entry of bonus payments, step increases, process retroactive payments.
- Process final payments when required.
- Process special deductions and adjustments.
- Filing of bi-weekly payroll paper files.
- Distribute and mail paychecks bi-weekly.
- Set up garnishments and levies in a timely manner.
- Answer employees request for resets of passwords and other resets in a timely manner.
- Assist in year-end processing and distribution of W-2s.
- Assist in breakdown of deductions by department for GL.
- Maintain accurate records of all payroll changes for auditors.
- Resolve most issues independently but refers complex issues to managers.
- Co-ordinate the interface between time, attendance and payroll system.
- Bachelor’s degree Required.
- 3 years of Payroll experience.
- Experience processing payroll for at least 500 employees, they have 1700.
- ADP Workforce now.
- Personality – need someone with thick skin, the other payroll specialist that this person will work with is very sweet but the Manager can be a bit stern at times as they are under a lot of stress and work in a very fast paced environment.
- Proficient Excel skills
