What does a Mail Room Associate/Receptionist do at KE Andrews?
- Operate, manage and monitor mail insertion machines; clearing jams in sorting equipment; sets up machine for each job according to the specifications. Trouble shoot equipment problems and identify repairs
- Ensuring all mail pieces meet established quality and USPS standards, such as Proof of Mailing, and Postage
- Complete required USPS documentation
- Keep internal inventory of forms, envelopes and paper
- Handles and accounts for sensitive materials
- Maintains workflow by collecting incoming mail from the post office, reviewing and sorting incoming mail for all departments; distributing correspondence to the appropriate employee or department; collecting outgoing mail; weighing envelopes or packages and affixing postage
- Lifting, loading, and unloading containers of mail or parcels
- Sign for and manage deliveries to mail room such as Fed Ex, USPS, UPS
- Perform support functions as directed by management
- Monitor time sensitive outbound mail
- Able to trouble shoot equipment problems, and able to identify repairs.
- Reading and interpreting postal statements on a daily basis
- Fill in for the receptionist position answering and directing calls
- Answer front door for visitors
- Receive and distribute USPS and other packages
- Answer calls and greet visitors in friendly manner
What is required?
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year general office experience required
- Must have minimum 1 year of operating mail room equipment
- Must be knowledgeable of USPS rules and regulations
- Ability to use computers, and mailroom applications
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment
Other skills and abilities:
- Effective communications skills
- Basic knowledge of computer software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
- Attention to detail
- Time management skills
- Knowledgeable of print and mail production
- Driving to and from the post office, a valid and clean MVR is required
- Must be willing to work overtime, if needed
