Keene Housing (KH) is nationally recognized as a leader in the areas of housing policy reform and affordable housing development. KH is seeking a full time Tenant Assistance Specialist. This individual performs administrative tasks associated with an assigned caseload of individuals receiving housing assistance. This position requires proactive communication with clients, case managers and landlords to support positive tenancy. Duties include verifying income, assets, and expenses to determine subsidy amounts, documenting tenant files and data entry.
Qualified applicants must have the ability to understand, interpret and apply federal and state regulations and agency policy and procedures. Applicants must be detail-oriented and organized with the ability to prioritize tasks, maintain accuracy and meet deadlines, and demonstrate exceptional customer service.
This position requires intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and the use of multiple software systems. Qualified applicants must have an Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and 2 years (minimum) work experience in social services; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience working with individuals with mental and/or developmental disabilities is preferable, but not required. Prior housing industry experience preferred.
