What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barn Security Associate position at Keeneland Association Inc?
Duties:
- Maintain and verify authorized and (current year) licensed trainer, groom(s) that will be working in and around the stall of assigned stakes race horse(s).
- Remain within sight of horses at all times to ensure they are not left unattended.
- Observe and notify security supervision of any suspicious activity; utilize best judgment and err on side of caution if unsure how to handle a specific situation.
- Observe and record daily activities regarding assigned Stakes Race Horse including:
- Name of person entering and exiting the horse’s stall
- Details of tasks being performed (i.e. grooming, mucking stall, wrapping legs, applying ice boots, equipment, etc.) and times in and out of stall.
- Document each time an authorized groom/trainer enters stall.
- -Redirect any person not authorized to enter a horse’s stall and notify supervision should this issue occur.
- Perform other duties within the Security Department as assigned such as parking, traffic, Grandstand, or gate duty.
