What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher/Steward position at Keeneland Association Inc?
Washes and stores all dishes, pots, pans and utensils in the proper manner. Keeps the kitchen clean and organized. Must be detailed, punctual and possess a good attitude. Schedule is varied and includes nights and weekends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Scrapes all dishes, pans and pre-washes before putting into sink or dishwasher.
- When washing is completed, empties sink, cleans inside and out with soapy water.
- Washes pots by hand using prescribed amounts of soap and disinfectant.
- Ensures all food, grease and residue are removed; changing water for best results.
- Ensures items are air dried before storing. Stores in a neat fashion and rotates stock so all items get used regularly.
- Keeps pots and pan storage racks clean including surrounding floors and walls.
- Maintain kitchen work areas; places trash in cans and cleans garbage cans with water or steam.
- Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsÂ
- Experience in dish-washing for a medium to large restaurant preferred.
- Subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise.
- Must be able to bend, stoop and perform while standing for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift heavy pots and stacks of pots and pans weighing up to 40 pounds.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
A Kentucky Horse Racing Commission license is required for all track workers.
