What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Executive Strategic Markets position at KEM KREST?

Through business development activities, grow sales by prospecting new / current customers to win new programs. Responsible for business development within targeted accounts or verticals from prospecting to lead qualification to quote to close. Deeply understand and apply market opportunities to Kem Krest, including prospective clients in current Kem Krest verticals in heavy duty, power sports and automotive.

Candidate must live within 3 hours of the following metro areas : Detroit, Grand Rapids, Toledo, Dayton, Columbus, Milwaukee, or Indianapolis.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities :

1. Lead generation and prospecting

  • Prospect leads from own research and marketing efforts, and continued follow up
  • Deeply understand and apply market opportunities to Kem Krest, including prospective clients in current Kem Krest verticals in heavy duty, power sports and automotive
  • Attend and act as a leader at industry events to generate leads and reinforce brand
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, service demonstrations and proposals to prospective leads
  • Provide actionable feedback from sales pipeline to improve marketing strategy and Kem Krest product and service offerings

2. Business Development and Negotiation

  • Lead business development activities to achieve new program awards, with a focus on programs greater than $1M-$3M million annual sales
  • Understand customer pain points to align Kem Krest capabilities to solve problems
  • Act as a consultant by prospective customers by offering tailored solutions that meet their business needs
  • Proactively negotiate and craft contracts and SOW to accommodate on MOQ and forecast discrepancies to protect KK from future SLOB
  • Lead program and / or SOW contract creation and negotiation.
  • May take a leadership role in MSA creation and negotiation
  • Provide industry insights to executive leadership to drive Kem Krest commercial and investment growth strategy to address industry and customer pain points
  • Maintain relationships with new and prospective customers, identifying and growing the account until such time that the account warrants an account manager / account executive
  • Ensure a smooth handover to account management or account executive organization once program is implemented and / or account is size warrants growth through account management
  • 3. Program Launch Project Oversight

  • Launch larger and more complex new programs
  • Drive sense of urgency on launch and launch team
  • Communicate program launch updates / progress to customer; may be the escalation communicator of program launch delays
  • Escalation resource on part launch delays or obstacles; may escalate internally to Director / Exec level to drive internal accountability
  • Ensure contract from statement of work and / or contract is met through implementation (holding ops accountable)
  • Accountable to gate 1, 2 and 3 in the launch process; ensuring cross-functional alignment to drive quality and on-time gate deliverables
  • Proactively drives the launch process to committed launch milestones and launch date
  • 4. Revenue Generation and achieve KPI

  • Deliver on annual revenue and KPI targets
  • Track sales metrics and adjust strategies and activities to meet sales objectives
  • Accountable to prospecting new opportunities, growing new business, and increase closure rate
  • Advise on creation of growth targets annually
  • Grow portfolios by understanding market analysis and forecasted growth to set portfolio specific account growth targets
  • Lead the delivery of RFQs
  • Consult on selling and pricing strategy for new customers and markets
