This position is at-will and exempted from the Civil Service System. The incumbent serves at the pleasure of the Civil Service Commission
Examinations:
- Appraisal (Weight 100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of evaluating the applicant's training, education, experience, interest and personal fitness for the position. Appraisal can be based on any of the following: Investigation, interview and/or application.
Should an oral exam be necessary, the oral exam will be weighted at 100%.
Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.
Employment Standards: Six (6) years of progressively responsible administrative management work, including document and records management and/or legal document processing experience, preferably including experience in a public agency providing high level clerical or administrative support in an executive-level office or for an elected board or appointed commission. Education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis to a maximum of three (3) years.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Driver’s License.

This examination will establish an eligible list from which immediate appointment(s) will be made. Other permanent and temporary appointments will be made as needed. Successful candidates will remain on the eligible list for a period of twelve-months, unless specified otherwise by the Civil Service Commission. Candidates are encouraged to indicate acceptable geographical locations in which they would accept employment on their application form. Candidates MUST be willing to travel to these locations (areas/district offices).
