What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food and Beverage Intern position at Keswick Hall and Golf Club?
POSITION PURPOSE
Assists with the planning, directing and control of restaurant service and operations resulting in a superior dining experience for all patrons of the resort utilizing the Food & Beverage venues of their internship.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensure that meals are being served in a professional and timely manner
- Ensure availability of manpower, supplies, and equipment to ensure positive guest experience.
- Shadow the Food & Beverage management team with hiring, scheduling, and supervision.
- Attend pre-meal meetings and conduct ongoing training of employees to ensure that employees continue to improve their performance.
- Must be familiar with commonly accepted standards of etiquette and decorum relating to service.
- Meets and greets customers in the outlets.
- Maintains clean and organized storage areas
- Complies with resort policies, procedures, and standards of operation.
- Assist in the completion of reports on production and necessary requisitions.
- Assist in regulation of distribution of necessary supplies.
- Provide direct service to guests as needed, including, but not limited to, serving tables, bussing tables, seating guests and general clerical/cashier duties.
- Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards.
- Assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand.
- Resolve food quality concerns immediately.
- Make chef/manager aware of guest’s comments and complaints.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE
Working knowledge is attained through education and work experience prior to current position.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must have a positive, self-motivated and professional attitude.
- Pleasant nature and ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to work flexible shifts

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be entering your Sophomore, Junior or Senior year. Majoring/Minoring in the Hospitality & Tourism, Food and Beverage, Travel & Tourism or related field
- Seniors planning to graduate in May of 2020 will be considered. REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs, including weekends and holidays.

- Walking and standing are required for the majority of the workday and possibly for 8 hours or more. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
