The Inclusion Support Specialist provides guidance and resources to teaching staff and families in supporting children with disabilities with special education services.
Responsibilities Include:
- Work with the inclusion team to coordinate the screening, identification and evaluation of children for possible disabilities
- Implements individualized activities with children based on Individualized Education Programs (IEP)
- Provide feedback and information regarding the development and implementation of IEP
- Promote an environment where children can safely learn and practice appropriate and acceptable behaviors
- Provide teaching staff and families with suggestions on appropriate activities and how to adapt activities for children’s individualized needs
- Track and monitor data to measure the impact of different strategies and approaches
- Collaborate with the special services team, local school districts, and the intermediate unit
- $19.53 per hour, may increase based on education and/or experience
- Salaried, Non Exempt position, Standard biweekly salary paid throughout the year, including summer months
- Typical work hours are between 7:30AM and 4:30PM based on assigned center;
- Location: Services provided in Dauphin, Cumberland and Perry counties

- Associates degree in early childhood education, special education, psychology or highly related field
- Two years of experience working with young children
- Knowledge of the mental health system and available disability services
- Intermediate computer skills, ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel Outlook and learn web based systems
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and access to properly insured vehicle, or public transportation
- Successful completion of pre-employment process, including Criminal History, MVR, Child Abuse and FBI clearances
- One year of experience working with preschool children in an integrated setting
- Bi/multi-lingual
- Participation in Head Start or Early Head Start
