Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Plano, TX. Primary Responsibilities: Data Pipeline Execution:

• Ingest data into the landing zone, then move it into Databricks for transformation
  
  

Follow The Medallion Architecture

• Bronze: Raw ingestion
• Silver: Clean and enrich
• Gold: Curated for reporting
• Data is primarily used for dashboarding and performance insights
  
  

Daily Activities

• Analyze data in the landing zone
• Use Python and SQL to transform and enrich datasets
• Interpret repository and workflow IDs to derive meaningful insights
• Write modular Python notebooks scheduled via Databricks workflow jobs (99% sourced from GitHub)
  
  

Reporting & Visualization:

• Currently using Power BI, transitioning to Tableau
• Aggregate and expose data to support business intelligence and performance reporting
  
  

Requirements

• Experience with native SQL strings passed to Spark and Spark SQL
• Cloud & Tools: Experience with Azure, Databricks, GitHub, and CI/CD workflows; Familiarity with DevOps principles and tooling
• Python: Strong coding skills in Databricks notebooks; Modular and object-oriented programming encouraged
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
