Technical Accounting Specialist

Responsibilities

Kforce's client, a Publicly Traded Financial Services company located in Northern NJ is seeking a Technical Accounting Specialist. The client offers great benefits and a flexible work schedule. Summary: The client is expanding and looking for a Technical Accounting Specialist. This person will oversee financial reporting and provide technical accounting research. They will monitor and analyze general ledger accounts, financial statements, and reports. The Technical Accounting Specialist supervises or performs major account analysis. This role ensures accuracy in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statutory Accounting Principles (SSAP) and the company's policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
• CPA required
• Five to eight years of accounting experience
• Knowledge of GAAP and/or SSAP
• Knowledge of general ledger accounting software packages
• Knowledge of account reconciliation, general ledger maintenance, and financial statements preparation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong working knowledge with MS Office applications
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
