ESSENTIONAL FUNCTIONS:
- Acts as a troubleshooter for the Adoption process at Kids Central.
- Requires frequent off-site activities that address improvements in the system of care.
- Provides guidance and direction to contracted agencies.
- Facilitates corrective action across the system of care.
- Facilitates positive community relations.
- Researches operating procedures in accordance with federal law, Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code and Florida Juvenile Rules of Procedure. Ensures policy updates or changes are communicated to assigned family care management agency.
- Develops processes to ensure that family care management outcome measures comply with statutorily mandated benchmarks for permanency and adoption related services.
- Tracks, logs, and reviews all adoptive subsidy packets prior to submission to Sr. Director of Out of Home Care for approval.
- Reviews and processes inquiries from adoptive parents received by Kids Central’s Ombudsman. Responsible for investigating, assisting care management in responding and providing a resolution to complainants and inquires. Tracks all inquiries and reports out on a monthly basis.
- Serves as representative for Kids Central on the Adoption Review Committee.
- Facilitates the Separated Sibling Staffings.
- Utilizes established reporting mechanisms for Adoptions finalized within 24 Months and other performance reports and safety measurements related to the adoption process.
- Participates in quarterly case review for the contracted Adoption case management provider. Assists in case review process including sample collection, entrance and exit interviewing, aggregating data and report writing. Produces data reports and examines performance trends.
- Assists in training of staff and staff development activities. Provides ongoing training and updates of policy and procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring the Adoption Chronicles are updated and current on the website.
- Performs any other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
Master’s degree in social services strongly preferred. Bachelors Degree in Social Services or related, and a minimum three (3) years experience in Adoptions is required. Strong organizational and data management skills required.
Other Requirements:
Ability to clear a Level II Background Screen
Valid driver’s license and insurable through agency’s current insurance carrier
Must carry personal phone with voice plan only for business communications during and outside business hours
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Provides leadership and consultation to management of contracted agencies.
- Ability to function within a highly professional team.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to develop policy and procedure that serves as agencies operational guidelines and mandates.
- Knowledge of child welfare system.
- Ability to apply quality assurance methods, interpret outcomes and measure data.
- Skills in strategic planning and short and long term goal development.
- Ability to identify trends, interpret and monitor data in order to establish best practices as well as implement quality improvement and corrective action.
- Knowledge of computer programs and ability to learn internal systems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job regularly operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Supervision is provided by the Sr. Director of Out of Home Care in the form of one-on-one supervision and regular team meetings. General guidelines and policies and procedures form the basis for performance monitoring.
