About Us: Kids' Corps, Inc. provides Head Start, Early Head Start, and Parents as Teachers programs, offering enriching experiences to children and support to their families. Position Overview:
- Role: Teacher
- Location: Anchorage, Alaska
- Type: Full-time, non-exempt position
- Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 hour shift between 7:30 am-5:30 pm (Year Round)
- Starting Salary: Dependent on education level:
- CDA/SEED Equivalent Certificate: $23.15 per hour
- Associate's Degree: $25.45 per hour
- Bachelor's Degree: $29.22 per hour
- Graduate Degree: $33.38 per hour
- There is a 10-step wage scale built into this position that occurs annually.
- Benefits: Includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short term disability, 401k with company match, 12 paid holidays, and paid leave
- Introductory Period: 90-day probation period with a $300 sign-on bonus upon completion
Responsibilities:
- Create a safe and nurturing classroom environment that supports children's social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Implement play-based learning and individual/small group instruction strategies.
- Conduct ongoing assessments and collaborate with parents to set goals for children's growth.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and coaching to enhance teaching skills.
Qualifications:
- Current Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) with Infant Toddler specific training, OR
- State of Alaska SEED Practitioner Certificate Level Six or higher with willingness to obtain CDA within 6 months of hire, OR
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with specific coursework in early childhood education.
