Job Summary:

  • The primary role of the Project Coordinator/Victim Assistant is to work closely with the Executive Director to ensure that National Children's Alliance accreditation standards are met and maintained. This includes reviewing and revising policies and procedures to meet standards. The Project Coordinator will also train as an advocate in order to assist with clients as needed.

The purpose of KIDS Place is to provide a coordinated, multidisciplinary, and humane approach to child physical and sexual abuse and neglect at a family friendly facility that minimizes trauma and anxiety for the child victim and maximizes the coordination and effectiveness of the core team agencies providing services for children and families from Macon and Graham counties in North Carolina.

Responsibilities:

  • Know national and state accreditation standards for children's advocacy centers and ensure that KIDS Place meets those standards as part of its day-to-day operational procedures.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director to meet grants and financial management requirements.
  • Maintain existing donor database.
  • Work with multidisciplinary team agencies to ensure that operational protocols and procedures meet the needs of each agency, the families served, as well as state and national accreditation requirements.
  • Keep the interagency agreements in Macon and Graham counties up to date with signatures of appropriate representatives.
  • Contact clients to gather follow-up Outcome Measurement Survey (OMS) data and input data into OMS database.
  • Provide regular statistical reports concerning center usage and the Outcome Measurement Surveys (OMS).
  • Coordinate KIDS Place involvement and participation in fundraising and community awareness events.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and capital campaign board committee to help raise funding for the new facility.
  • Participate in collaborative efforts with other agencies as directed.
  • Provide victim advocacy and case coordination as needed by providing breaks and backup for the child advocate.
  • Promote the mission of KIDS Place.
  • Other miscellaneous responsibilities as needed. KIDS Place is a small nonprofit organization. As such, each employee must be willing to help wherever and whenever needed. This may include answering the telephone, greeting visitors to the center, cleaning, etc.... It is critical to the overall operation of this organization and is indicative of the team effort necessary to provide quality programs efficiently and effectively.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in project coordination within the human services sector
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in project documentation
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Good with people of all walks of life
  • Dependability, enthusiasm, and creativity.
  • Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of the problems associated with the impact of child physical and child sexual abuse is helpful.
  • The desire to help child/youth/teen victims of abuse.
  • The ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse agencies and stakeholders.

Professional Development:

  • This job requires initial and ongoing training that will be provided via online and in-person attendance at conferences, workshops and symposiums.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29,000.00 - $41,600.00 per year
