Position Summary:
The Toddler Teacher is responsible for providing attentive care and supervision to toddlers aged 12-36 months. Working closely with the lead teacher and director, you will support the delivery of a developmentally appropriate curriculum designed to encourage growth in all domains: cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language development. You will ensure the health, safety, and well-being of every child in your care while maintaining compliance with EEC regulations and littleborough’s standards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Must be at least 18 years old
Meets all Massachusetts EEC requirements for toddler teachers
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field preferred
Prior experience working with toddlers preferred
Demonstrated reliability, patience, and a passion for early childhood education
Ability to work flexible hours between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, year-round
Key Responsibilities:
Childcare and Supervision
Provide direct supervision to toddlers, ensuring safety at all times within legal ratios
Attend to children’s physical needs, including diapering, toileting, feeding, and nap routines following health and safety guidelines
Support positive social interactions and foster emotional development through nurturing and responsive care
Curriculum and Learning Support
Assist in implementing a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum developed by the lead teacher and center director
Facilitate activities that promote fine and gross motor skills, language acquisition, sensory exploration, and social skills
Encourage curiosity, creativity, and independence through guided play and learning opportunities
Communication and Documentation
Observe and document children’s progress, milestones, and behaviors as directed
Share daily updates and developmental information with parents/guardians in a positive and professional manner
Collaborate effectively with the lead teacher, director, and other staff to maintain consistent communication
Classroom Environment and Safety
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment conducive to toddler learning and safety
Adhere strictly to EEC regulations, health and safety protocols, and Kidsborough policies
Report any concerns regarding child health, behavior, or safety immediately to the lead teacher or director
Teamwork and Professionalism
Work collaboratively with other staff members to support the overall success of littleborough
Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities as required
Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and confidentiality in all interactions
Additional Expectations:
Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification (training provided if needed)
Attend ongoing training to stay current with best practices in early childhood education
Support the center’s philosophy of inclusive, respectful, and child-centered care
Participate in special events, family engagement activities, and community involvement as scheduled
