Job Summary

The Central Supply clerk is expected to assist with stocking medical equipment and ordering of supplies for the facility.

Duties & Essential Functions
- Assists nursing personnel with responsibility of stocking medical equipment.
- Will report inventory to Quality & Finance on scheduled basis.
- Inventories and requests nursing supplies, equipment and forms as directed.
- Orders Nursing supplies as needed or approved by Quality RN.

Education/License/Certification/Other Requirements

Minimum requirement:
-
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
-
Knowledge of and demonstrated skills in general office procedures.

Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions, such as work processing, graphics, databases and spreadsheets.

Typing proficiency of 50-60 words per minute required.

Ability to project positive professional and customer-service image.

Working Environment

The work setting is in a Long Term Care Environment.

Occasionally be exposed fumes, or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.

Occasional stress associated with an intimate, 24 hour residential care environment that delivers care and services primarily to disabled and cognitively impaired residents. Examples of these stresses include, but are not limited to: shift rotation, weekend and holiday duty, unusual or impaired behavior by residents, family reactions to having a loved one in the nursing home, death, and dying, oversight of state surveyors, ombudsmen and federal officials, presence of consultants and attorneys, and variable involvement of medical staff.
