Summary/Objective
Provide behavioral support and academic interventions to students in an alternative learning environment.
Essential Functions

- Responding to all internal and external customers, as it relates to the position, in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner
- May perform clerical duties to assist the school office as time permits or as assigned; performs other related duties as assigned
- Develops and implements ISS attendance and other related record-keeping procedures, logs, and files
- Monitors activities of students assigned to In-School-Suspension (ISS) room; ensures that students are involved in learning activities while in ISS room; ensures that students are working on schoolwork assigned by classroom teachers; provides assistance to students in understanding and completing work/study assignments
- Communicates with teachers regarding student suspensions, behavior, attendance, and work assignments; develops and implements procedures to ensure that students assigned to ISS get assignments from their teachers as well as books and supplies; ensures that completed assignments are collected and submitted to teachers
- Contacts parents as assigned or as necessary; answers inquiries from parents; provides appropriate information regarding students’ attendance, behavior, and assignments
- Maintains the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer employed
- Maintains knowledge of and adheres to all policies, regulations, and rules
- Performs related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
At-Will Notice of Employment does not provide a guarantee of a particular schedule of work or a minimum number of days or hours.
This is a 9-month, 40-hour per week position. This position is eligible for medical benefits. Employee will work ten hours per day Monday through Thursday during core business hours.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- AA degree, 60 college credits from an accredited university, or satisfactory results on an Arizona state-approved competency exam (ParaPro)

Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
