Overview
Assist the Project Manager in providing Construction Project Management Consultant Services for the owner on vertical Public Sector Construction Projects from conception to completion. The position will be assigned and based at the project site in Yuma, AZ.
Responsibilities
- Assists the project manager in providing construction project management consultant services to the owner on vertical public sector projects
- Ensures operations are executed following company project management procedures and policies
- Ensures delivery and adherence to contractual requirements and that all aspects of owner contracts are accomplished
- Ensures all project activities are executed timely following contractual requirements
- Reviews all project documents and monitor the daily project activities for conformance to contractual requirements
- Manages the review of submittals and shop drawings to ensure conformance with contractual requirements
- Assists in reviewing the contractor’s billing worksheet, pay estimate breakdown, and monthly progress payment request and monitor payment receipts and disbursements
- Assists the project manager during the procurement process to identify qualified contractors/subcontractors for assigned projects
- Coordinates and monitors activities of contractors/subcontractors, design consultants, and related performing entities
- Assists with the overall project management process, including schedule control, scope changes management, budget control, and process contract change order
- Actively participates in internal team activities that focus on continuous improvement
- Provides customer service to internal and external clients promptly
- Builds and maintains long-term client relationships
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline is preferred
- 3 or more years of experience in the Design/Engineering/Construction (DEC) industry is required
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficient user skills with the Microsoft Suite of tools and Bluebeam
- Working knowledge of standard industry tools such as P6 and Procore is strongly preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to foster and maintain interpersonal relationships is required
- Provide leadership support and financial management support to the project team is required
License and Certifications
- A valid Arizona driver’s license free from suspensions or restrictions is required
Travel Requirements
This position is based on location at the project site in Yuma, AZ.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in an office and/or construction environment. Conditions regularly include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, atmospheric conditions, and cramped quarters. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, or hear and use hands to finger, feel, and handle; frequently reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must frequently lift and or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
